Grief Breakthrough for the Holidays

personal development Dec 11, 2018

Are you having trouble getting into the holiday spirit? Some people experience grief during the holidays and it just hangs out in the background as they go through the motions and traditions of the season. Grief shows up in so many different ways. Are you suffering from the loss of a loved one or a relationship, the grief from past trauma, the sadness that you cannot give like you want, the yearning to have love, or are you suffering from anger / frustration as you reflect on the past year(s) and have the perception that life has not been working out for you? All of these scenarios manifest as grief and many people do not know that there are tools to help release the grief so the joy of the season and the true essence of themselves can shine through.

The closest I came to experiencing pure joy during Christmas was last year, yet there was still a grief there lingering and I could equally feel both. This year is the first holiday that I have felt pure joy with no clouds covering it...

5 Ways to Let Go and Let Love During the Holidays

personal development Nov 21, 2016

The upcoming holidays mark a time of stress for a lot of people, offering the opportunity to grow, let go, and become more awakened.  We are entering into a time where the spiritual enlightenment of the world is happening at an increased pace.  All will experience an opportunity to wake up to their true essence of peace, love and joy.  The people we encounter over the holiday season can serve as our best teachers in this lesson of life.

For some people the holidays mean dealing with the ghost stories of their past, encountering family members they may not normally see, becoming exposed again to past hurts that have been left unhealed, including grief from the loss of a loved one.

What this means RIGHT NOW for you is, it is time to let go of the past, allow these stories to come to the surface so they can be fully released.

As we deal with these stories it is important to

Speak from our hearts in the most loving way.

The universe is asking us to be true to...

Health - Your Own Healing Journey

Your Own Healing Journey

by: Dr. Chris Hengesteg, D.C.

One of the most common questions I hear in my office is, "How long will it take for me to feel better?"  I know the patient wants a straight answer but sometimes it is hard to give. Why?  There are so many variables in the healing mechanisms of our bodies.  Your healing journey can be completely different from someone else's journey even if you both have the same health issues. I like to put healing into 4 categories: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.

Physical

Physical involves the body and its 12 major systems in the body:  integumentary, skeletal, muscular, immune, lymphatic, cardiovascular, urinary, digestive, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, and reproductive.  Do these systems function together or are they helter skelter?  For example:  If your digestive system isn't working properly, it can cause a decrease in your immune function which can cause your endocrine system to not...

Grace Boxes for Children with Cancer

personal development Nov 10, 2016

The Story of a Big-Hearted Five-Year-Old

I asked our 5-year-old daughter Grace to get rid of toys because she has too many, so she found some she was willing to part with and put them in a little shoe box.  When she brought the box to me I asked her what she would like to do with the toys.  She came up with the idea to give them to sick kids with cancer in the Hospital.

Since health is such a big part of our daily life Grace has grown a heart towards children who struggle with cancer and other serious illness. She believes that giving these children crafts and activities will bring them joy, "so they aren't bored while waiting around all day."  We found out through the Child Life Specialist at the local hospital that they cannot accept anything used, so of course Grace suggested we buy them all NEW toys and activities!  I asked her,  "Well just how many boxes would you like to make?"  I expected her to say 3-4 but instead Grace stated matter-of-factly,...

5 Truths of an Authentic Relationship

personal development Oct 24, 2016

Everyone reaches a point in their marriage or committed relationship where the honeymoon stage becomes a distant memory.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we could stay in that puppy love every day?  Instead, one of three things can happen:

  1. Your partner becomes your best friend and the love blossoms into something even more meaningful.
  2. Your partner becomes your worst enemy and you are trying to change one another.
  3. Your partner becomes your roommate because there is no connection.

You may find your relationship bouncing between all 3 scenarios.

To start, I would like to dispel the myth that relationships should make you happy.   Connecting to your spirit and living fully with peace, love, and joy allows your true essence of happiness to shine through.  Relationships bring to you the soul work required to become your best self.   When you decide on a relationship, you have committed yourself to that person, all the life lessons they carry, and all the life...
